The luck of the Irish

Whatever that may mean to the Irish people, to me us it meant some rain, a little sunshine, some beautiful scenery and gorgeous BnBs to boot. Also the small matter of a rubbish rugby display by the "bokke" or should that be "boo-kke". I will contain my excitement for the upcoming English Test matches. Pictures can be viewed here

How could they?

They've voted and the results are in. Pluto has lost his status. No - not this pluto silly, the other one. Apparently its too small. How very disappointing for all of us who studied for hours to remember the names of the planets in our solar system. I feel a twinge of sadness...

Quirky

No, not the fact that im still up and blogging at this hour, not even the fact that we watched Big brother tonight. Well done to Pete - nice one. What would you do with £100000.00? Hmmmm. I can think of a few things. Buy a Nokia E61 for starters. And maybe one of these
!!
Fantastic.
not quirky because Im heading to the USA for 2 weeks without my lovely wife...booo. Thats just downright not nice. Ill be in Raleigh, North Carolina for a spot of work and heat since it looks like the weather there is not cool!

But mostly quirky because of this! Those of us of a certain age from South Africa know exactly what I mean. It brings a smile to ones face hey.

Time to flex His muscles

On Wed evening at our church (QRC) prayer meeting, I had a real sense that God is flexing His muscles and is preparing to take some action in the life of the church. I didnt share it then - mainly cos I didnt get a chance to, but the sentiment was expressed well enough by others during the night. Times, they are achanging and we gotta be ready... hold on God, im not quite ready yet!

Mr and Mrs Schonken

Introducing my beautiful bride. What a wonderful day! It was an amazing experience to have loads of family and friends share a very special day with us. We loved it and will enjoy the following few weeks of opening pressies and looking at photos. Thanks to all who were able to attend and/or send messages.

The End of Bachelordom

Tonight was my bachelors aka stag. It was a cracker!! much fun had by all and sundry. I think I made a lot of people smile today, wearing the funny outfit and talking to random people. Its interesting to see how different nationalities react to a silly outfit.Scaring kids and making people laugh helped ease the embarrassment of the outfit! Oh and bumper cars are just fantastic...

Less than 3 weeks

Quite a delay since the last post but for good reason. Im getting married in less than 3 weeks. Yeah baby!
Things are coming together nicely and we are all VERY excited. Honeymoon is booked and scuba diving course is complete. The final bits and pieces will be done this week and then its all downhill to the big day. You might want to compare the local weather to that of Mauritius.
